Hello everyone,
Id like to share some exciting news with you, this week I started a new job working as a textile studio assistant at a soft furnishing company, which makes beautiful bespoke curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. I've been so excited about beginning my new chapter and as I am nearing the end of my first week I thought I would reflect of how much I am learning already and keep you guys updated on my progress.
I have always been interested in textiles and interior design, so when the opportunity came my way I jumped at it! I have had the best week, I am learning so much and so many new skills, no day is the same and it is such a great environment to be working in.
On day one, my first challenge was sewing my boss's blinds! But it went well and the team of lovely ladies helped me out tremendously! Everyone is so welcoming and talented, I couldn't have wished for such a perfect place to learn and work. Day two, I sewed silk blinds which was only slightly nerve racking ... Fortunately the turned out well, again thanks to the guidance of the girls. On day four I actually finished and completed a pair of polka dot blinds! I was so pleased, I sewed everything as well as cutting to size the rods, bottom bar, brackets and bead chain. All in all its been a lovely week and I am looking forward to the next!
